Electronic Engineer, major in Computer Science
When I was a teenager I had my first approach to programming when I read some books teaching how to write small text games in QBasic.
Later on I went to college to study Electronic Engineering with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Physics. I learned about operative systems & Linux and to code in Python & C (algorithms, data structures, etc).
I am mostly a self taught web developer. At college I’ve studied the theory and foundation of computer science in depth (databases, networks, OOP, etc), but I’ve been getting my hands dirty writing code since I was little boy. I think a great way to improve my vocabulary in any programming language is by reading other people’s code, that’s why the last years I’ve been collaborating in different open source projects.
To learn a new tech, I usually search courses in sites such as Udemy and Platzi.
I am subscribed to YouTube influencers and I belong to some Discord communities, that’s how I figure out the different trends software developers are talking about. That’s how I keep myself up to date with new technologies.
